Lytton Strachey was an early twentieth-century English writer and biographer, and a key member of the Bloomsbury Group. He is probably best known for his rejection of commemorative Victorian biography and for writing about his subjects in works such as Queen Victoria and Eminent Victorians with irony and humour.
