Vita Sackville-West was an English aristocrat and celebrated writer with thirteen published novels and more than a dozen poetry collections. But, she is probably most remembered for the beautiful gardens she created at Sissinghurst Castle, her intricate relationships, and for being the inspiration behind her friend and lover Virginia Woolf’s novel, Orlando: A Biography.
