What an intriguing life. With such wandering independence, she must not have had many possessions other than clothing and her art supplies.

I took an art history class a few years ago. I don't think her work was mentioned, but it absolutely should have been. That Methodist Chapel painting is really cool.

An artist I haven't known until now - I very much enjoyed discovering her. I read it as one of those stories about women who refused to conform to what society asked of them in those times. And perhaps one way of not conforming was going far away from her family and their (possible) pressures.

Wow. I was getting worried about her choices about where to live in the early 1930’s. Happy to hear she avoided occupation, though I’m certain the war exacted a horrific toll on everyone in Europe, even if they weren’t on the continent.

A difficult time in history to be such an adventurous spirit. A fascinating lady indeed.

It sounded like she had a very restless spirit and a need to explore and learn from so many different artists. I preferred her early work I felt her later paintings became dark and distorted and unhappy.

It was very interesting and I enjoyed reading and learning about someone new thank you.

What an ace piece. I didn’t realise how prolific she was. What I really liked about the piece is how you show her progressive style and her reflection of her’s and others lives. Brilliant, thanks
