My "game" with these collections is to try to pick a favorites which is difficult. For this collection, I picked
‘Sunday Morning, Farringdon Road’, Cecil Osborne, Oil on Canvas, 1929 (Brighton & Hove Museums) because I love views from interiors into exteriors with their double mystery of who's looking and what's beyond the sight of the viewer.
That one I great. I also really like “Saturday, John M. Paramor, Oil on Canvas, 1925 (Southwark Heritage Centre).” So many ways to create a story from that one.
What a joy! I love all the paintings that you show us! Wonderful. I've been working on my current crochet project today, and I wrote a poem about the horrendous storm we had here yesterday. I do intend to get back into drawing and painting... So many lovely things to do! Thank you for this. So gorgeous. xx Francesca
Exactly!!! Problem with me is I keep wanting to get out a book to read but than think of a project I've been putting off and end up working on that project. I always read a little sometimes though. Does that count!?
What you do here with the plethora of paintings and the quotes from C.S. Lewis, among others, makes for a grand Sunday.
Thank you so much, Mary 💛
Ah, so it’s not just me that feels like that on a Sunday then, good to know! 😊
The first painting doesn’t have Saturday or Sunday in the title, but I really wanted to include it in the collection :)

Thank you Victoria for this visual feast.

I do love the idea of paintings as short stories. Thank you for commenting, Cindy :)
Thank you, David! :)
A beautiful collection, to which I'll return - many thanks ❤️
Thank you. I’m so pleased you enjoyed it 🧡
I am looking at Sunday on a Wednesday and it feels perfectly soothing.
Bringing a promise of the Sunday to come :)
And the major poem 'Sunday Morning' by Imagist poet Wallace Stephens https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poetrymagazine/poems/13261/sunday-morning
Thank you for sharing, Ronald.
Lovely selection of paintings!
Thank you, Dorinda 🤎
I want to know what in earth is happening in the Stanley Spencer piece.
It’s such an intriguing painting. I know that it shows his childhood home, family and neighbours.
These are so beautiful and interesting. I do appreciate your research
Thank you Ann Marie 💛
Codrington's canvas "Morning" always makes me think ...I wish I'd been to the party she was at.
It isn’t strictly a ‘Saturday’ or ‘Sunday’ piece, but I just love it!
I've disliked Sundays since I was a small child . It always feels like death to me. Beautiful selection, as always.
Thank you, Marina 🤎

Ha, that does count Angela. But, if you are enjoying the project, that’s all that matters! :)
